As his reputation in the area grew, clients from as far away as South Bend began to seek out his services. To better serve more people, Mr. Schmidt formed a legal partnership with Porter County bankruptcy attorney Dan L. Whitten, giving clients the advantage of a second office location plus the benefit of both attorneys’ experience and bankruptcy law knowledge. The partnership was a success due in large part to the shared goal that both attorneys have – helping people resolve their financial issues efficiently and live a happier life.

In 2021, Mr. Schmidt passed away, leaving behind numerous family and friends and a strong legacy of helping others. Dedicated to his clients until the very end, Mr. Schmidt took steps before his passing to ensure that his firm would continue on with the assistance of Mr. Whitten. Together, they reviewed and discussed the firm’s caseload and client needs at length, allowing Mr. Whitten to continue the firm’s work without interruption.
